About Me
Dr. Me’Ja Day is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon who cares for patients through routine eye exams and surgical treatment when needed. She began her academic path at Spelman College, majoring in Biochemistry, and later earned her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, graduating magna cum laude.
During training, Dr. Day discovered ophthalmology through clinical experiences at Grady/Emory, where she developed a lasting interest in eye surgery. She completed a transitional-year internship at Spartanburg Regional Hospital, followed by ophthalmology residency training at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans.
In practice, Dr. Day performs comprehensive exams, cataract surgery, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. She emphasizes patient connection and education, and she finds it especially rewarding to help people see more clearly again after cataract treatment.
