About Me
Dr. Matthew Ohr specializes in vitreoretinal and corneal diseases, diagnosing and managing conditions affecting the retina, vitreous, cornea, and other structures of the eye. He treats retinal conditions such as retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusive disease, and others, with an emphasis on early intervention and ongoing care to prevent and manage potentially blinding eye conditions. Treatment approaches may include medical, surgical, or other measures.
Dr. Ohr also performs refractive (vision correction) surgery and surgically repairs dislocated lenses. He treats age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss in older adults. He has a particular interest in advanced imaging technologies like optical coherence tomography (OCT) to obtain detailed cross-sectional images for precise diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Ohr emphasizes combining state-of-the-art treatment with personalized care, focusing on listening to patients, clear communication, and treating each individual with compassion. He practices at Ohio State's Havener Eye Institute.
