Meet Dr. Matthew Rauen
About Me
Dr. Matthew Rauen is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cornea and refractive surgery specialist. He focuses on conditions and surgeries involving the front portion of the eye, including cataracts, corneal diseases, and laser vision correction. Dr. Rauen values patient education and tailors treatment plans to individual goals, using advanced technologies such as laser-assisted cataract surgery, astigmatism-correcting intraocular lenses, and multifocal or trifocal lenses to reduce dependency on glasses.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Rauen is actively involved in the ophthalmic community. He serves as Associate Medical Director of the Iowa Lions Eye Bank and holds leadership roles in national organizations including the Cornea Society and the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has been recognized as a Young Physician Leader and contributes to advancing the field through research and teaching.
