Dr. Matthew Asano

Dr. Matthew Asano is a vitreoretinal specialist who focuses on the medical and surgical care of diseases of the macula, retina, and vitreous. He enjoys partnering with patients to explain complex conditions clearly, outline options, and tailor treatment plans to each person’s vision goals and daily needs. Originally drawn to the region’s outdoor lifestyle, he is an avid skier, cyclist, and hiker and is excited to serve patients across northern Colorado and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Asano completed medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine, ophthalmology residency at Cook County Health and Hospital System in Chicago, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine/Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He is also a graduate of Swarthmore College. Patients can expect thoughtful follow-up and continuity of care from diagnosis through recovery.
