Dr. Mark Gonzalez

Dr. Mark Gonzalez is a board-certified ophthalmologist with expertise in comprehensive eye care, including cataract surgery, LASIK, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and routine eye exams for glasses and contact lenses.

He has a special interest and expertise in refractive cataract surgery, which uses premium intraocular lenses to eliminate or greatly reduce the need for glasses after surgery. Dr. Gonzalez also offers laser-assisted cataract surgery, a state-of-the-art and potentially safer alternative, and is instrumental in bringing minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery to the MedStar Eye Institute.

Dr. Gonzalez sees patients at MedStar Eye Institute in Bowie, Silver Spring, and Charlotte Hall. He is dedicated to updating his techniques and instruments to provide accurate, optimal results and works with ophthalmology residents at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
