About Me

Dr. Mark Emig is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of vitreous and retina conditions, diabetic eye disease, and cataracts. He provides care for patients at Eye Physicians P.C. locations across Nebraska.

Dr. Emig completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Kansas and served an internship at St. Joseph's Medical in Phoenix. He then completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a fellowship in vitreoretinal disease at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Midwest Eye Care. He joined Midwest Eye Care in 1994.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Emig serves as the Medical Director for Mission Cataract, an annual program providing free cataract surgery to patients in need. He also volunteers with the One World Health Center and the Hope Medical Outreach Coalition, and serves as chair of the ophthalmology department at the Nebraska Medical Center – Clarkson Hospital and as Medical Director for the Midwest Eye Surgery Center.
