Dr. Mariam Hamid

Dr. Mariam S. Hamid is a cornea and external disease specialist at Henry Ford Health who cares for adults with cataracts and a wide range of corneal disorders. She earned her M.D. from the University of Michigan and completed ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital, followed by fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Hamid provides individualized treatment plans that may include advanced corneal transplantation techniques, cross-linking for keratoconus, medical therapy for ocular surface disease, and vision-restoring cataract surgery when appropriate. She works closely with colleagues across the health system to coordinate care and help patients return to the activities they love with clearer, more comfortable vision. Dr. Hamid welcomes new patients and values clear communication, shared decision-making, and culturally sensitive care.
