About Me
Dr. Louis Michaelos is a board-certified ophthalmologist at St. Michael's Eye & Laser Institute, continuing a family legacy of eye care. Inspired by the emotional impact of restored vision, he is dedicated to using innovative techniques and technologies to protect and preserve sight. He treats a range of conditions including cataracts, corneal disease, and refractive errors, performing advanced procedures such as corneal transplantation, LASIK, and cataract surgery.
Dr. Michaelos completed his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University, followed by an internship in South Miami, residency at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Pinellas County Ophthalmology Society.
His practice emphasizes comprehensive lifetime eye care, from medical management of ocular diseases to state-of-the-art surgical interventions.
