Dr. Liesel Zima

Dr. Liesel M. Zima is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who diagnoses and treats a wide range of eye conditions, with a focus on medical retina and cataract surgery. She joined Kalamazoo Ophthalmology in July 2018 and provides care designed to protect vision and support long-term eye health.

Dr. Zima graduated from the University of Michigan, where she majored in neuroscience and minored in music. She earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2014 and received clinical honors in ophthalmology. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Indiana University and the Glick Eye Institute. During training, she participated in research in pediatric ophthalmology, macular degeneration, vitreoretinal surgery, and cataract surgery. Dr. Zima is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
