Dr. Lauren Schneider is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of cornea and external diseases. She provides comprehensive care for conditions such as keratoconus, Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy, inherited corneal dystrophies, herpetic keratitis, and dry eye syndrome. Her surgical expertise includes cataract surgery, corneal transplants (including DSAEK and DMEK procedures), premium intraocular lenses, and femtosecond-assisted cataract surgery using the latest laser technology.

Dr. Schneider received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, graduating Cum Laude. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, where she graduated in the top 3% of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her medical internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and her residency in ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She then pursued fellowship training in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

An active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Dr. Schneider has presented original research at nationwide conferences and is a published author of articles and book chapters on corneal disorders and the artificial cornea. She also holds a clinical teaching position at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.
