Dr. Kunal Merchant

Dr. Kunal Merchant is an ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive, cataract, and corneal surgery. He aims to treat every patient like family and focuses on clear communication, careful planning, and evidence-based care to help people see their best.

Dr. Merchant earned both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at George Washington University. He completed ophthalmology residency training at George Washington University, serving as chief resident, and then completed a cornea fellowship with the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary–Harvard Department of Ophthalmology. He has trained extensively in refractive surgery, laser cataract surgery, and glaucoma laser surgery, and he is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery. Outside the office, he enjoys organizing medical mission trips to provide surgical and medical eye care.
