About Me
Dr. Kimberly D. Blankshain is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a sub-specialization in neuro-ophthalmology. She provides cataract surgery and routine eye care, while focusing on diagnosing and treating vision problems that arise from the brain and optic nerves. Her expertise helps patients with complex neurological conditions understand their visual symptoms and find safe paths to recovery.
Dr. Blankshain earned her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Iowa and her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati after an internship at The Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati, and she further specialized through a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.
In her personal time, Dr. Blankshain enjoys spending time with her family in her backyard and baking sweet treats in her kitchen.
