About Me
Dr. Kimberly D. Blankshain is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in neuro-ophthalmology. She evaluates vision problems that arise from the brain and optic nerves and offers coordinated care for patients with complex neurologic conditions, while also providing cataract surgery and routine eye care. Her approach is warm, thorough, and focused on helping patients understand the cause of visual symptoms and the safest path to recovery.
Dr. Blankshain earned her MD at Chicago Medical School (Rosalind Franklin University) and completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati after an internship at The Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati. She returned to Chicago for a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.
