About Me
Dr. Kevin Lai is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neuro-ophthalmologist at Cincinnati Eye Institute. He brings specialized expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex vision disorders related to the nervous system. Dr. Lai also holds academic appointments as an associate professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and an adjunct professor at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he teaches and mentors ophthalmology residents.
Dr. Lai is actively involved in advancing the field of neuro-ophthalmology. He has been recognized with multiple teaching awards and is a two-time recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Secretariat Award and the NANOS Merit Award for his service. He serves in leadership roles in the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and on committees for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, contributing to educational resources and standards of care.
Committed to leveraging technology for patient access, Dr. Lai was instrumental in adopting telemedicine for neuro-ophthalmology during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has authored several papers on technology in neuro-ophthalmology and founded Ophthalmology Review, an online platform that helps train ophthalmology residents for board exams. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his family and hobbies such as music, puzzles, and board games.
