About Me
Dr. Kevin Lai is a board-certified neuro-ophthalmologist who brings specialized expertise in diagnosing and managing complex vision problems related to the nervous system. He completed his fellowship training at the Dean McGee Eye Institute and now sees patients at Cincinnati Eye Institute on a part-time basis while also serving as an associate professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Lai is actively involved in teaching ophthalmology residents and has been recognized with multiple teaching awards for his educational contributions.
Dr. Lai’s clinical practice focuses on conditions that affect the connection between the eyes and the brain, such as double vision, optic nerve disorders, and visual field loss. He is particularly skilled in evaluating and treating patients with symptoms that may indicate neurological issues, offering comprehensive assessments to determine the underlying cause and guide appropriate treatment. His approach combines detailed clinical evaluation with the latest diagnostic technologies to provide personalized care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lai is deeply engaged in advancing the field through research and education. He played a key role in expanding telemedicine for neuro-ophthalmology during the COVID-19 pandemic and has published several papers on the intersection of technology and eye care. He also founded Ophthalmology Review, an online resource dedicated to helping ophthalmology residents prepare for board examinations. Dr.
