About Me
Dr. Kenneth L. Cohen is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He specializes in cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology, with a focus on rapid visual rehabilitation for patients with cataracts and corneal disease.
Dr. Cohen's approach involves exacting surgical procedures and a coordinated team effort. He personally performs complete eye examinations prior to surgery and works closely with ophthalmic technicians to ensure accurate intraocular lens power calculation. He has established a system of topical anesthesia for cataract surgery to facilitate quicker recovery.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Cohen has a special interest in teaching modern cataract and corneal transplant surgical techniques in underdeveloped and underserved countries.
