About Me

Dr. Kelvin “Paul” McDaniel is a board-certified ophthalmologist and osteopathic physician who brings a unique blend of skill, innovation, and compassion to his practice. With over 10,000 surgeries performed, he has extensive experience across a variety of procedures that help patients protect and restore their vision. He specializes in vision preservation, cataract surgery, and glaucoma care, offering personalized care to help patients preserve their vision and enhance their quality of life.

A native of Covington, Louisiana, Dr. McDaniel graduated cum laude from Tulane University and earned his medical degree with honors from A.T. Still University. He completed his residency at Saint Louis University, where he set a program record for the most cataract surgeries performed in its century-long history and introduced Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS). He continues to lead the way in ophthalmic innovation, being the first surgeon on Mobile’s eastern shore to offer the Light Adjustable Lens™ (LAL).

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. McDaniel has an impressive background in teaching and research. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and was awarded the prestigious Saint Louis University Harry Brady Resident Research Award.
