About Me
Dr. Karen Armbrust is an Associate Professor and the Ophthalmology Residency Program Director at the University of Minnesota. She specializes in treating patients with ocular inflammatory diseases, including uveitis and scleritis. Dr. Armbrust sees patients at both the University of Minnesota Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, providing comprehensive care for complex eye inflammation.
Her clinical focus and research are centered on uveitis, scleritis, and related inflammatory eye conditions. Dr. Armbrust is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has published extensively on topics such as cataract surgery outcomes in patients with inflammatory disease and barriers to treatment adherence in uveitis.
Dr. Armbrust completed her medical degree and PhD at the University of Minnesota Medical School, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the same institution. She then pursued a specialized fellowship in uveitis and ocular immunology at the National Eye Institute.
