About Me
Dr. Joshua Hu is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing general ophthalmology since 2008. Recognized as a Texas Monthly “Super Doctor”, he is known for his warm bedside manner and dedication to superior eye care.
Dr. Hu completed his undergraduate degree with distinction in chemistry at Yale University and earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed a one-year medical internship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and his ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Hu has a special interest in cataract surgery and the evaluation and treatment of many common eye diseases, including dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and ocular complications related to diabetes and systemic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and thyroid disease. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Texas Medical Association, and the Tri County Medical Society. Dr. Hu sees patients at the San Marcos office.
