Meet Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Makin

Dr. Catherine Makin is an ophthalmologist whose primary focus is at the New Braunfels location of Westlake Eye Specialists. Her mission centers on empowering patients with the gift of clear vision through state-of-the-art refractive and dry eye treatments. Dr. Makin combines the latest ophthalmic technology with a heart-centered commitment to care, ensuring each patient feels seen, heard, and valued.

Dr. Makin brings a wealth of experience and specialized skills to the local community, having previously served as Medical Director at EyeSight Hawaii Maui. She earned her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University and completed her ophthalmology residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center. Her foundational education includes a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
