About Me
Dr. Joshua Ney is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataracts. He completed his glaucoma fellowship at the Scheie Eye Institute, where he also received the Excellence in Medical Student Teaching Award. Dr. Ney's clinical practice focuses on providing a full range of management options for glaucoma, including eye drops, laser treatments, and surgical interventions, with particular expertise in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). His approach aims to control intraocular pressure and preserve vision while minimizing recovery time and risks associated with traditional surgery.
In addition to glaucoma, Dr. Ney performs cataract surgery to help patients restore clarity and reduce dependence on glasses. He is committed to incorporating the latest surgical techniques and technologies to optimize outcomes. Dr. Ney's research background includes studying retinopathy of prematurity at Boston Children's Hospital, and he has authored peer-reviewed papers and book chapters in ophthalmology.
Dr. Ney sees patients at multiple locations in Massachusetts and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the New England Ophthalmological Society, and the Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is dedicated to patient education and individualized care plans for those with complex eye conditions.
