About Me
Dr. Ciolino is a cornea specialist at Mass Eye and Ear who focuses on cataract surgery, keratoconus treatments, and corneal transplants. He is a member of the Cornea Service and provides care for patients with corneal and external eye diseases. His clinical approach includes advanced cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses for astigmatism correction, multifocal vision, and light adjustable lenses. For patients with keratoconus, he offers corneal cross-linking and corneal tissue additive keratoplasty (CTAK) to improve vision and delay or avoid the need for corneal transplantation.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ciolino is actively involved in research to develop innovative treatments, including a drug-eluting contact lens that may one day replace eye drops for certain conditions. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed residency at Albany Medical College, followed by a fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. He serves on the faculty at Harvard Medical School and supervises medical students, residents, and fellows.
Patients can expect a thorough evaluation and a personalized treatment plan tailored to their specific eye condition. Dr. Ciolino sees patients at the Boston main campus and the Lexington location.
