Dr. Jon Gieser

Dr. Jon P. Gieser is a retina and vitreous specialist at Wheaton Eye Clinic. He provides medical and surgical care for a broad range of retinal conditions, including retinal detachments, macular holes, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Gieser earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his residency at the University of Michigan W.K. Kellogg Eye Center. He then pursued a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Gieser has published research on topics such as computer information technology in ophthalmology, advanced retinal surgery techniques, and retinal electrophysiology. He also served on the editorial board of JAMA Ophthalmology and has held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.
