About Me
Dr. John Berdahl is a board-certified ophthalmologist internationally regarded as a leader in LASIK, cataract, cornea, and glaucoma surgery. He has performed over 50,000 surgeries, combining technical precision with genuine concern for each patient. Patients from around the world seek his surgical skill and dedication to advancing ophthalmology.
Dr. Berdahl is among a very small group of U.S. surgeons fellowship-trained in cornea, glaucoma, and refractive surgery. He offers a rare blend of experience, innovation, and compassion, equipped to employ the most innovative techniques to treat diseases of the anterior segment of the eye. His work has shaped today's eye care, and he continues to join mission trips to deliver sight-saving surgery in underserved regions.
Ranked among the top 2% of ophthalmology researchers worldwide, Dr. Berdahl focuses on the fundamental causes of glaucoma, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and astigmatism management during and after cataract surgery. He has been involved in over 100 FDA-monitored clinical trials and has published extensively. Beyond clinical practice, he has invented several medical innovations including a non-surgical way to lower eye pressure for glaucoma treatment.
