About Me
John Lippincott, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon. He manages the full spectrum of medical and surgical retinal disease, from age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy to complex macular and vitreous disorders. He values careful examination, state-of-the-art imaging, and thoughtful discussion so patients understand their diagnosis and the reasons behind each treatment.
Dr. Lippincott completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, followed by a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He studied philosophy as an undergraduate at Emory University and completed a master’s degree in physiology at Georgetown University before earning his medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. At Eyecare Medical Group in Maine, he offers both clinic-based care and advanced microsurgery designed to preserve and restore vision.
