About Me
Dr. Sirus Hamzavi is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist with experience caring for patients with a broad range of eye conditions. At MaineGeneral Eye Center, he brings a specialty focus in medical retina while keeping sight, safety, and patient understanding at the center of each visit.
Dr. Hamzavi joined MaineGeneral Eye Center’s medical staff in March 2022, after practicing ophthalmology in Maine since 2004. His training includes a retina fellowship at Center for Specialty Eye Care / Piedmont Hospital and a research fellowship on the Glaucoma Service at the Storm Eye Institute of the Medical University of South Carolina.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center.
