Meet Dr. Janet Davis
About Me
Dr. Janet L. Davis is an internationally recognized expert in uveitis and a medical retina and vitreoretinal specialist at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She holds the Leach Chair in Ophthalmology and serves as a Professor of Ophthalmology. Dr. Davis has extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating infectious and inflammatory diseases of the eye, with a particular emphasis on uveitis.
She is skilled in diagnostic procedures for conditions such as primary vitreoretinal lymphoma and has participated in numerous clinical trials, including surgical implantation of drug delivery devices for uveitis. In addition, Dr. Davis leads a surgical team that performs subretinal gene therapy procedures for inherited retinal diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa and choroideremia. Dr. Davis also treats macular degeneration, macular diseases, and diabetic retinopathy. Her research focuses on the treatment and disease mechanisms of ocular inflammations and infections.
