About Me
Dr. James Lehmann is a board-certified ophthalmologist in San Antonio, Texas, who specializes in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. His practice encompasses both medical and surgical ophthalmology, treating common conditions such as cataracts as well as rare and complex diseases including corneal dystrophies and ocular surface injuries. He has particular expertise in complicated anterior segment surgery and has introduced advanced techniques like Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty and DMEK to the San Antonio area.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lehmann serves as an assistant clinical faculty member at UT Health San Antonio and is actively involved in volunteer surgical care. He provides cataract and pterygium surgery gratis for indigent patients at the I Care Clinic at Haven for Hope. Dr. Lehmann also participates in international medical missions, traveling to countries such as China, Peru, Myanmar, and India to teach cataract and corneal surgery techniques.
Dr. Lehmann is fluent in Spanish and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
