About Me
Dr. Israel Ackerman is a fellowship-trained and board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract and refractive surgery. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Northwell Health/Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and then pursued advanced fellowship training at the University of Texas Southwestern in Cornea, External Disease, and Keratorefractive Surgery. This extensive training has equipped him with the expertise to manage a wide array of complex eye conditions.
Dr. Ackerman provides a comprehensive range of surgical and medical eye care. He is highly skilled in performing advanced vision correction procedures, including LASIK and PRK, and specializes in cataract surgery utilizing the latest technological advancements. These include high-tech intraocular lens implants, Toric lenses for astigmatism, and femtosecond laser cataract surgery, all aimed at ensuring optimal visual outcomes and faster recovery for his patients.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Ackerman serves as an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Texas Southwestern, where he teaches cataract surgery techniques to ophthalmology residents.
