About Me
Dr. Hossein Ameri is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. He treats a wide range of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, central serous chorioretinopathy, retinal detachment, and macular holes. His expertise in vitreoretinal surgery allows him to perform delicate procedures to restore and preserve vision.
Dr. Ameri’s extensive training includes an ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the USC Eye Institute. He also completed an internship in general surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. In addition to his clinical work, he is an active researcher who has contributed to the development of retinal prostheses and holds multiple patents. His research focuses on retinal vascular disease and ocular ultrasound, which informs his approach to patient care.
