About Me
Dr. Harpal S. Sandhu is a retina specialist board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a degree in chemistry and earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. His ophthalmology residency was completed at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, followed by a retina fellowship at the Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Sandhu served as a full-time faculty member in ophthalmology and physiology at the University of Louisville. During his academic tenure, he was an attending physician on the retina service, uveitis service, and ocular trauma service. He also directed the uveitis fellowship program and was an NIH-sponsored investigator with research in ocular immunology, diabetic physiology, pharmacoepidemiology, and artificial intelligence applications to ophthalmic imaging.
With over 100 scientific publications, Dr. Sandhu is dedicated to advancing retinal care through research and clinical practice. He provides comprehensive treatment for retinal diseases, uveitis, and ocular trauma, focusing on patient-centered care and innovative therapies.
