About Me
Dr. Gillian Paton is a neuro-ophthalmologist with special qualifications in child neurology. She cares for children and adults whose vision is affected by neurologic and neuroinflammatory diseases, with a particular interest in pediatric neuro-ophthalmology and how conditions like demyelinating disease impact sight. Patients appreciate her collaborative style and clear explanations as she coordinates care across ophthalmology, neurology and pediatrics to arrive at a precise diagnosis and a practical treatment plan.
Dr. Paton earned her M.D. from the University of Saskatchewan and completed pediatric neurology residency at BC Children’s Hospital, University of British Columbia. She then pursued advanced training in pediatric multiple sclerosis and related demyelinating diseases at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia/University of Pennsylvania, followed by a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship through the University of Pennsylvania, Scheie Eye Institute and CHOP. At OHSU’s Casey Eye Institute, she offers comprehensive evaluation for complex visual symptoms, from optic nerve disorders to double vision, with care tailored to each family’s needs.
