About Me
Dr. G. Baker Hubbard III is the Thomas M. Aaberg Chair in Ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine and serves as the Director of the Retina Service at Emory Eye Center. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in vitreoretinal surgery and diseases, with a particular focus on pediatric retinal conditions. Dr. Hubbard has been with Emory Eye Center since 2000 and currently leads the section of Vitreoretinal Surgery & Disease. He also holds the position of Vice-chief of the Ophthalmology Service at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, Egleston.
His clinical expertise includes the management of complex retinal disorders such as retinopathy of prematurity, retinoblastoma, Coats disease, and pediatric retinal detachments. Dr. Hubbard’s research is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of pediatric vitreoretinal diseases, and he has served as principal investigator for numerous clinical trials. He is actively involved in teaching and has supervised over 40 vitreoretinal fellows.
