Dr. Jiong Yan is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist who has been practicing since 2004. She is an Associate Professor at Emory Clinic - School of Medicine and serves as the director of the vitreo-retinal surgery fellowship program. Dr. Yan's clinical expertise encompasses the medical and surgical management of complex retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and various macular diseases.
At the Emory Eye Center, Dr. Yan leads the inherited retinal disease unit and focuses on retinal degenerative diseases. Her approach combines advanced surgical techniques with a deep commitment to patient-centered care, aiming to preserve and restore vision for those with serious retinal disorders. She is actively involved in training the next generation of retina surgeons and contributes to research in her field.
