About Me
Dr. Ghazala Datoo O’Keefe is a specialist in retina and vitreous diseases at the Emory Eye Center, where she has been providing care since 2015. She brings expertise in medical retina and uveitis, helping to manage an expanding patient population with these conditions. Her clinical work is focused on inflammatory and infectious diseases of the eyes, retinal degenerations, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. O’Keefe completed her medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She then finished an ophthalmology residency at the University of Southern California and the Doheny Eye Institute, followed by a fellowship in medical retina and uveitis at UCLA and the Doheny Eye Institute. She is board certified in ophthalmology and holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Her research interests include infectious and autoimmune eye diseases, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal imaging. She is also engaged in quality improvement projects to enhance care for patients with complex eye diseases and is involved in professional leadership development at Emory.
