About Me
Dr. Gaurav Prakash is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the UPMC Vision Institute and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He specializes in cataract and refractive disease as well as cornea and external diseases, caring for patients with both routine and complex anterior segment problems. Dr. Prakash completed residency and fellowship training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and earned his medical degree from Banaras Hindu University. His clinical interests include advanced cataract surgery, management of corneal scarring and infection, and treatment of ocular surface disease that affects comfort and quality of vision. He is also involved in academic medicine, contributing to the education of residents and fellows while participating in research aimed at improving outcomes for patients with corneal and lens-related disease.
