Dr. Vishal Jhanji is a corneal specialist and clinician scientist by training. He provides expert care for a wide range of complex corneal and ocular surface conditions at the UPMC Vision Institute.
His clinical expertise and research focus includes keratoconus, corneal ectasias, corneal infections, and corneal transplantation. As Division Chief of the Cornea Service, he also manages complex ocular surface disorders such as graft-versus-host disease and Stevens Johnson syndrome.
Dr. Jhanji holds leadership roles as Vice Chair of Quality, Co-Director of Clinical Trials, and Clinical Co-Director of the Funderburgh Cornea Regeneration Project. He is also the current president of the Eye and Contact Lens Association and is actively engaged in advancing corneal research and clinical trials.
