Dr. Finny John

Dr. Finny T. John is a board-certified ophthalmologist who recently joined the Eye Center of Central Georgia in Macon. He specializes in advanced cataract surgery, glaucoma, and refractive surgery such as LASIK and ICL, offering comprehensive ophthalmology services to his patients.

Dr. John completed a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University followed by a Medical Doctorate at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He then undertook an internship at NYU Winthrop Hospital, where he was named Preliminary Intern of the Year. In 2017, he moved to Oklahoma City to complete his residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in glaucoma at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute, receiving the Annie Moreau, MD Fellow Teaching Award.

He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Refractive Surgery Alliance. Originally from Troy, Michigan, and having grown up in New York, Dr. John moved to Georgia in 2024. He is excited to serve the patients of Bibb County and greater central Georgia to the best of his ability.
