About Me
Dr. Ferhat Evliyaoglu is a pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist who cares for both children and adults with misaligned eyes, amblyopia, pediatric cataract, and complex strabismus. As a clinical assistant professor with University of Iowa Health Care, he combines thoughtful communication with evidence-based treatment and a calm, family-centered approach. He especially enjoys seeing a child’s confidence and vision improve after the right diagnosis and intervention.
Dr. Evliyaoglu earned his medical degree at Hacettepe University School of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency at Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital in Istanbul. He pursued subspecialty fellowships in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Akron Children’s Hospital and at Emory University. He provides care in both the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and the Stead Family Children’s Hospital, and is fluent in English and Turkish.
