About Me
Dr. El Baba is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal disorders. He provides care for patients with conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, floaters, geographic atrophy, and other diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula. With over two decades of experience, he brings expertise in managing complex retinal conditions and offers personalized treatment plans to address each patient's unique needs.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. El Baba has served as an educator and administrator at SUNY Stony Brook, where he became Director of the Retina service and was promoted to full Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology. He has also served as Vice-Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Chief of Ophthalmology at the Northport VA Hospital.
Dr. El Baba is committed to advancing the field of ophthalmology through his teaching and research contributions, having authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. He sees patients at OCLI's East Setauket location.
