About Me

Dr. Ernest Bhend is an ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions. His areas of focus include cataract surgery, femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS), premium intraocular lenses, combined cataract-glaucoma procedures, and ocular surface disease, including dry eye. Dr. Bhend completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri – Columbia, where he also earned his medical degree. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri – Columbia, including training at the Mason Eye Institute. Prior to joining CEENTA, he spent ten years as a general ophthalmologist at the Missouri Eye Institute – Joplin. He is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Bhend sees patients at his Fort Mill office.
