Dr. Drew Thomas

Dr. Thomas is a board-certified ophthalmologist who joined North Idaho Eye Institute in 2019. Originally from Louisiana, he earned an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at Louisiana Tech University and completed medical school and ophthalmology residency training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

Dr. Thomas emphasizes cataract surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK), and comprehensive eye care, including care for patients with diabetes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. He has a particular interest in refractive cataract surgery and enjoys working with patients to build a surgical plan tailored to their needs and lifestyle. Dr. Thomas values getting to know patients as people, answering questions clearly, and helping them feel prepared and confident as they move through treatment and recovery. Outside the clinic, he and his family enjoy exploring the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest.
