Meet Dr. David Cooke
About Me
Dr. David L. Cooke is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing comprehensive eye care at Great Lakes Eye Care in Saint Joseph, Michigan. He grew up in Berrien Springs and graduated as valedictorian from Berrien Springs High School before attending the University of Michigan through the accelerated Pre-Med Interflex Program. After earning his undergraduate degree with honors and his M.D. degree, he completed an internship in Ann Arbor and an ophthalmology residency at Mayo Clinic. He returned to Michigan in 1987 to take over the practice of a retiring physician.
Dr. Cooke is actively involved in research and has published over 100 articles and presented at numerous ophthalmology conferences. He is a member of the IOL Power Club, which focuses on advancing cataract lens selection and technology. He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology at Michigan State University. Dr. Cooke holds board certification in ophthalmology and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
