Meet Dr. David Jacobs
About Me
Dr. David Jacobs is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery. He treats a range of retinal conditions including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, epiretinal membrane, macular hole, dislocated lens, and complex posterior segment disease. Dr. Jacobs is dedicated to preserving vision and provides compassionate, effective retina care for each patient.
Dr. Jacobs earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, completed his ophthalmology residency at the Wake Forest University Eye Center, and pursued a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. After his training, he established the first vitreoretinal surgical service in northwestern North Dakota and has conducted research on retinal detachment repair outcomes. He has also provided humanitarian retina surgery in the Dominican Republic and Ecuador.
Dr. Jacobs is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He has presented at the Vit-Buckle Society and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and his research has been published in the Journal of VitreoRetinal Diseases. He is fluent in Spanish.
