Meet Dr. Ryan Deasy
About Me
Dr. Ryan F. Deasy is a vitreoretinal surgeon at Virginia Eye Institute. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of a wide range of retinal conditions, including diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and retinal detachments, including complex recurrent cases.
Dr. Deasy completed his medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health, followed by an internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital and residency in ophthalmology at The Ohio State University. He then completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at the same institution. Prior to joining Virginia Eye Institute, Dr. Deasy spent 10 years as a staff retina surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute, where he also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and participated in training residents and fellows.
Dr. Deasy is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and the Richmond Academy of Medicine.
