About Me
Dr. David Barañano is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist at Retina Specialists. He completed his medical and graduate training at Johns Hopkins and a fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at Emory University. He previously served on the faculty at the Wilmer Eye Institute, where he was Assistant Chief of Service and led pediatric retina care.
Dr. Barañano treats the full spectrum of adult and pediatric retinal conditions, including retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular hole, and epiretinal membrane. He has a particular interest in pediatric retinal diseases such as retinopathy of prematurity, Coats disease, and persistent fetal vasculature.
