Dr. Darin Haivala

Darin R. Haivala, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Retinal Associates of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. He specializes in vitreo-retinal diseases, treating conditions that affect the retina and vitreous.

Dr. Haivala earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency and fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous at the Dean McGee Eye Institute. During his time at Dean McGee, he participated in pivotal clinical trials that led to the approval of treatments such as Lucentis and Eylea. He remains on staff at Summit Medical Center, Oklahoma Surgicare, and OU Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Haivala is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
