Dr. Cole Swiston

Cole Swiston, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Essentia Health who provides medical and surgical care for a wide range of eye conditions, with a special focus on glaucoma. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin and completed ophthalmology residency at the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, where he also pursued fellowship training in glaucoma.

Dr. Swiston offers thoughtful counseling and stepwise treatment—from medications and laser procedures to appropriate surgical options—aimed at protecting vision and simplifying care plans. In addition to glaucoma management, he treats cataracts and common anterior and posterior segment problems seen in comprehensive practice, working across Essentia Health locations in Duluth, Hermantown, and Superior to deliver convenient access to care.
