About Me
Dr. Elisabeth Petit-Fond Aponte is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and board-certified ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon who has performed thousands of eye procedures. She specializes in the evaluation and management of glaucoma, including glaucoma lasers and glaucoma surgeries. Her practice is designed with consideration for the elderly and visually impaired, aiming for convenience and offering outreach clinics to reduce travel time for patients.
Dr. Aponte attended medical school at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and completed an ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She then pursued additional specialized glaucoma training at the University of Iowa, a top eye hospital. She has published glaucoma research in scientific journals, and her work is referenced in textbooks used by ophthalmology trainees across the United States.
In addition to her glaucoma expertise, Dr. Aponte enjoys church activities with her family, mission trips to Haiti, and chocolate desserts. Her practice is equipped with state-of-the-art glaucoma technology, including advanced visual field machines and optic nerve scans for early detection.
