Dr. Clayton Patrick

Dr. Benjamin Appelo is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who treats a full spectrum of eye disease with a focus on cataract and refractive surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Patients appreciate his calm, straightforward manner and the way he lays out options so each person can choose a plan that fits how they see, work, and live. Dr. Appelo graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University and earned his MD at the Florida State University College of Medicine. He completed his Ophthalmology residency through the U.S. Air Force at Brooke Army Medical Center, later serving as Medical Director of the Ophthalmology Department at Keesler Medical Center and teaching refractive and cataract surgery to residents. In clinic, he provides careful evaluations, modern surgical planning, and follow-up that keeps people comfortable and confident as they recover.

Dr. R. Elliott Browning is an ophthalmologist with a strong foundation in both science and patient-centered care. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at Auburn University in 2014 and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 2018. He then pursued an internal medicine internship at the University of North Carolina, where he worked closely with patients facing a wide range of medical and eye-related concerns. Dr. Browning values clear communication and takes time to explain diagnoses, imaging, and treatment options in an approachable way so patients can feel confident in their decisions. His clinical interests include comprehensive eye care, cataract evaluation, and medical management of common eye diseases. Outside of medicine, he enjoys reading, golf, Bible study, woodworking, and mechanical and electrical projects, interests that reflect his curiosity, attention to detail, and steady hands in the exam room.

Thomas “Taylor” T. Coleman, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He provides complete medical and surgical eye care for adults, including the evaluation and treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and common retinal and corneal conditions. Dr. Coleman is known for a practical, down-to-earth style and for partnering closely with patients to match testing and treatment to individual needs. A Jackson native, Dr. Coleman earned his medical degree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he received the Brenda Joy Nicholson, MD Scholarship and was recognized as a Medical Student Research Scholar. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at UMMC and now cares for patients while teaching the next generation of physicians. Outside the clinic, he enjoys brewing espresso, reading, and time with his family.
