Dr. Claxton Baer

Dr. Claxton Baer is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal disease and surgery. He earned his medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Virginia, completed an internship at Carilion Health System, an ophthalmology residency at Emory University, and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Duke University.

Dr. Baer provides comprehensive care for patients with retinal and vitreous disorders, utilizing advanced surgical techniques. He treats a wide range of retinal conditions, including retinal detachments, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and vitreous hemorrhage. He practices at multiple locations in Eastern Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, including Kingsport, Johnson City, Bristol, and Abingdon.
